Carolina Ruggerfest experienced one of its most successful tournaments in recent history. Hundreds of players across several age groups fought for various division titles over the course of a weekend.

Among the copious amount of games, there were several community members involved including Anthem RC, local colleges, and plenty of vendors to round out the day. Coaches and Team Parents from NCYRU and around the country worked incredibly hard to make this weekend a success.

According to USAYHS Rugby, Carolina Ruggerfest featured over 16 teams in the U19 Girls brackets, 24 in the U19 Boys, and several dozen more appearing in the younger brackets.

The tournament kicked off with a Friday Night Showcase, the Anthem Pathway Classic. In partnership with Anthem RC, the Charlotte Cardinals defeated the Okapi Wanderers out of Florida by a score of 35-10. In the next match, Queens University of Charlotte defeated Ohio State by a score of 24-20.

Youth Teams in the Carolinas and around the country mark Ruggerfest as the key moment in their entire rugby calendar. It serves as a great event to tune up for regular season play and to face opponents outside their local purview. We hope to see even more teams out there next year!
